Misc January Photos

Random photos taken during January

Domkyrka

E and friend...

Playing hide and seek with me... and then pretending to be asleep when I find them.

It isn't fun if it doesn't make a big old mess.

Sweet pea in a cargobike.

She loves this safety vest and calls it her fireman coat.

Hard at work

One of the few snow falls we had this winter.

Smashing up ice puddles in the park.

Those little ducks look COLD

Working on puzzles

We still aren't sick of performing the St. Lucia procession.  Over and over and over again.

Sweet smile, but not for long...

Take a good look at those teeth.  Within a month of this photo three more had fallen out.

Malmö -- with friends this time

We enjoyed our visits to Malmo so much, we came back the next week with friends.  Every time we go, we walk through the city a different way and I see more pretty buildings...

This is such a typical street in Skåne.
I'll miss walking through streets like this when we move away.

Malmöhus (Malmö Castle)

We started at the museum inside the Malmöhus.  Before heading in, we grabbed a snack at the museum cafe and ran into some more friends.  More little people = more fun!  We wandered around the exhibits and saw an aquarium, dinosaurs and we even got to step inside a volcano.
But what did the girls like best?  Why, the empty exhibit hall, of course!

Here are S and friends...

A spice bench...

Back to the interactive flight diversion game

And then S found her favorite part of the train museum - the toy train table.

Of all the interactive exhibits, this is the one S spent the most time with.
She giggled over and over at the ball suspended in the air.  But it was just as fun to stand in the air flow without the ball...

Malmö

We spent some time in January visiting the museums of Malmö.

First, a few building shots:  This one is of a very typical roofline in Skåne.

This little sinking house is called "Atlantis."  I haven't been able to find out much about it except that I think it has been around for at least a couple years.  It gets moved around to different parts of Malmo.  I've seen photos of it in at least two or three other locations before this one.

The fish market

And finally on to our destination today:  The Science and Maritime Museum.  The first thing to catch E's eye was this interactive display.  An image of the city is projected on the floor and airplanes can be seen flying over the city.  The kids jump on the projection to make the airplanes suddenly divert and fly off screen.  Endless hours of fun!

We explored the flight section of the museum first.

...and then the train section.  Naturally S was drawn to the toy train table.
She didn't care much about the big trains around her.

Up next?  The submarine.

The entire second floor of this museum is interactive fun.  Good thing we didn't come up here first.  The girls were having so much fun up here they never would have seen any of the planes, trains and submarines!
