Malmö

We spent some time in January visiting the museums of Malmö. 

First, a few building shots:  This one is of a very typical roofline in Skåne. 

This little sinking house is called "Atlantis."  I haven't been able to find out much about it except that I think it has been around for at least a couple years.  It gets moved around to different parts of Malmo.  I've seen photos of it in at least two or three other locations before this one.

And finally on to our destination today:  The Science and Maritime Museum.  The first thing to catch E's eye was this interactive display.  An image of the city is projected on the floor and airplanes can be seen flying over the city.  The kids jump on the projection to make the airplanes suddenly divert and fly off screen.  Endless hours of fun!

We explored the flight section of the museum first. 

...and then the train section.  Naturally S was drawn to the toy train table.  

She didn't care much about the big trains around her.

Up next?  The submarine.

The entire second floor of this museum is interactive fun.  Good thing we didn't come up here first.  The girls were having so much fun up here they never would have seen any of the planes, trains and submarines!
