We love kids' museums and diners!

Yesterday the girls and I went to their favorite children's museum.

First we stopped at the fun diner nearby:

Sadie - making faces at herself in the mirror.

Then we headed to the museum.

First stop:  the grocery store area.

The museum has a dress up area with a stage and a sweeping red curtain that hides the stage.  The girls spent f-o-r-e-v-e-r dressing up behind the curtain.  I wasn't allowed to look... but I couldn't help peeking anyway.

Here Ellie is helping Sadie pick out her dress-up items.
Sorry it is blurry, I wasn't supposed to be peeking
so this was a stealth photo.

Uh-oh, I've been caught.

Here they are both telling me "No more looking!!"

One of Sadie's favorite parts of the museum -
the Sadie height, automatic sink.
She thinks this is a pretty cool idea.

...still at the museum...

Ahhh... finally!  Sadie's very favorite spot:  The Baby Room

Ellie, who loves a challange, found the pulley area.

She taught herself how to lower canisters into different pots.

Sadie was still with the babies.

Ellie moved on to the Lego table...

...where she built a Lego truck...

...and raced it down this track.
(That's Ellie way up there at the top of the slide.)

And of course Sadie was still busy with the babies.

Walking on Campus

Campus is very pretty this week

Sometimes it doesn't matter if you're really smiling as long as your missing tooth shows.

Sadie's kind of in a phase of not liking cameras.
Here I asked her if she wanted to be in the picture
and she willingly walked up to pose, but refused to turn around.

Here's Sadie's new friend Inchy the Inchworm.

...and once she had this little critter to play with she didn't mind so much about the camera.

I don't have too many photos of me since I'm behind the camera mostly.
But here is my Self Portrait with Child.

Spring Break Staycation

This Wednesday, when the weather was perfect, the girls and I headed downtown.

First we checked out this statue.

We checked him out thoroughly.

And then we headed to the water fountain.

At first Sadie wasn't too sure about all this.

But then she got into it.  She dunked her head over and over!

Ellie is like a cat.  She loves any sunny spot.  Here she found a warm rock.

Mmmmmmmmmmm!

I am a mermaid.

Oh!  Look at that, I'm missing a tooth!

Here Sadie told me that the pigeons (on the opposite river bank)
were having ballet class and she wanted her photo taken with them.

Spring is here!

I'm back!

Time is f-l-y-i-n-g by! Sometimes I actually do remember to have my camera with me.  Our days are full, though, so downloading photos and posting them here has turned out to be >ahem< a little less frequent than I'd planned.

This week we're on spring break so we're moving a little more slowly and we have little more time to catch up.  And we have a lot of catching up to do.

Here are a few things we've been up to.  First, soccer:

See her taking charge here?

A couple years ago Ellie played soccer with some of her friends.  She enjoyed it but there was a lot of standing around and not knowing what they were doing.  This time around she is *really* into it.

Sadie likes to play soccer on the sidelines
... and play on the slides in the playground nearby

Someday you'll be a soccer player just like I am!
