Hjärup and Jakriborg

It seems that most places I've lived over the years claim the saying "if you don't like the weather here, wait ten minutes."   However, Skåne is the first place I've lived where this is really true.  Over the course of a half hour it can rain, be perfectly sunny, and rain again.  Almost all the days we've been here it has been like that.  The Swedes don't bat an eye at it. The children all are required to have boots, rain pants and rain jackets at school and they go outside no matter what the weather is.

Today we were sure it would rain but while it did look like it might downpour every once in a while, we managed to avoid getting soaked.  Today was my ideal perfect weather - 69 degrees and sometimes sunny.

Whenever we travel south of here by train or car we have noticed a pretty community.  Today we decided it was time to explore it up close so we hopped on our bikes and headed south.  I keep being surprised by how close everything is to us.  Hjärup, the village we visited today, is just a short bike ride through pretty fields.

This sign translates to "Slow down, playing children."
Even if you only speak English, I'm pretty sure you might slow down for this sign. 

Most of what we saw of Hjärup was planned neighborhoods.  Each one had its own character.  They were all different but all of them were well kept.  Of course there were bike paths connecting everything.

Part of Hjärup is a community called Jakriborg.  It was peaceful and pretty so we parked the bikes and wandered here for a little while.

We need some signs like this in our neighborhood!  The sign above it said something about access only for delivery vehicles.  There were no cars on the streets in Jakriborg so children were running around freely.

We liked this greenhouse, 1/2 of it is is below the level of the ground. 

We see community gardens everywhere!

A different, more modern neighborhood.  You can't see from this photo but these houses were all decorated really well!  I want to tour inside so many of the houses we see.
