Relaxing

The park next to our house might just be my favorite place here so far.  This park has everything - a great playground, a hedge maze that happens to be exactly the right size and difficulty for my kids, pretty manicured flower gardens, plenty of lush wooded areas, several secret surprises - hidden tree houses etc - that delight my children every time we happen upon one, ducks and a few swans to be fed, a cafe with delicious muffins and plenty of steaming hot coffee, an outdoor amphitheater and an indoor pool.

What could be missing?  Well, isn't it obvious?  Hammocks!  I didn't mention the hammocks!

On your marks, get set, GO!
We couldn't believe this when we first stumbled across them, but these hammocks are up all the time and every day we see people using them.  What a great idea!

It is difficult to show in photos because the  are slung between trees all along the edge of one field.  They are grouped in twos and threes but are far enough apart from other groups so that you can have your own little bubble of relaxation without being bothered by the teens and their iPods in the next hammock over.

See them all, even in the background?  I just love this idea!

For a brief moment both girls were relaxed and quiet.
Hard to imagine?  That's the magic of a hammock.
