Vineyard Trip - Part II

Of course while we were on the Vineyard we spent a lot of time on the beach. Ellie loved Long Point and still talks about it.

Sadie enjoyed the beach, even though she's too little to play in the sand. Most of the time she looked like this:

Or this:

We saw many beautiful sunsets.

Ellie saw me taking photos of the sunset so she offered to pose for me. "Take a picture of me like this."

"And now like this."

"And now take a picture like this!"
Here we are at the teeny bopper dance at the beach club. (That's Sadie strapped to my front, even she was getting in on the action!)

It was a great trip. Thank you everyone!

Vineyard Trip - Part I

Oh goodness. It has been a while since I've had the time to download photos, sort them and then update this blog. We've had a fun summer and it is hard to believe it is over. Here in the south, the weather is getting cooler (phew!) and we're spending a lot of time outside enjoying the perfect days.

So first things first: In August we had a great trip up north to the Vineyard. The girls loved every minute, from the boat ride over ...

... to hanging out with cousins ...

... and of course spending time with Go Go.

An awake photo!

Whenever the baby is awake I have her in my arms, and no room for a camera. For that reason, awake pics are a little harder to get. But finally here is one!

Snuggly Bug

Super Kid!

At camp today the theme was superheros so now we have a SuperKid in the house. Note the cape.
The cape means you can run really fast.

Naptime!

It is a miracle! They are both asleep at the same time.

It looks restful, doesn't it?

Sleeping like a baby...

Resting up...

Meanwhile, Sadie is resting up in the hopes that some day she'll be able to keep up with Ellie.

We love swimming!

We have a little fish this summer...

Scooby time!

Here we are saying hi to Scooby. Three more weeks to go!

School is out!! Summer vacation is here!

Ellie's school had an end of the year picnic last week. It was a great celebration - face painting, tatoos, cheerio necklaces... and a bouncy castle. Does it get any better than that?

Granny and Granddaddy were here visiting last week. We went out to lunch.
And we painted pottery.

And after Granddaddy left he sent me boxes of cool bandaids. So I put them on every finger...

Wes' field trip out west went well. We went to his office to wave the buses off...
Then we went home and kept busy so we didn't think about missing him too much. We made playdoh Frosty snowmen (we are still very obsessed with Frosty)....

And we put on all the hats, gloves and scarves we could find. That's fun even when it is 70 degrees outside.

Ellie got a new swing set last week! YAY!

But Tilly and Chedi are a little jealous. They want to play outside too!!

We've been having so much fun!! Go Go and Cool Daddy came to visit a couple weeks ago. We had fun with them here. They brought a bumble bee outfit with them...

And we went to the zoo.

Big Excitement!

There's a new children's museum that has opened in a town nearby. The Hands-On Gallery is perfect for kids about two to five years old. Ellie thinks that Hands-On might just be a little slice of heaven.

There is a grocery store there:

And a paint studio:

And even a kitchen for baking apple pies:

And lots of other good stuff. We could spend days in there and not get bored.

SNOW DAY!!!

We actually had snow. Yes, that white cold stuff that the northerners talk about. At one brief moment last night there was maybe as much as four inches on the ground. The best part is, the ground is still covered.
Late last night we had to get out of bed to go play in the snow. In these here parts snow play trumps bedtimes. Half our neighborhood was out with their cameras. We built a Frosty and gave him Oreo eyes (yes Oreos, Frosty is that important to us). He's still out there this afternoon, slowly changing shape as he melts.
