Legoland - details

The first thing you notice as you enter Miniland at Legoland is all the realistic buildings and structures.  It takes a while to sink in.  Everywhere you turn you find yourself pointing and saying "wow."  We spent a good part of one day just wandering with no real route in mind as we kept being pulled off-path because of some new thing we'd noticed.  But after you start to feel you've seen everything, you begin to notice the little details.  They are everywhere.

Lost hiker holding an open map.

Someone giving directions to lost tourists.

Wedding couple being photographed while floating on a moving raft (see the underwater pulley system?)

People in traditional clothes dancing around a maypole. (A very big holiday in Sweden!)

This is a series of working locks.  The girls have seen locks in real life before, they've even been in them on boats.  Watching this mini version really helped them get the whole idea of how they work.
